On September 5, 2021, on the 11th Sunday after Pentecost, leavetaking of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, feast of Synaxis of Moscow Saints, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the Secretary of the Sourozh Diocese, priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the end of the service, the Archpastor addressed the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
Vladyka has warmly congratulated ktitor of the Dormition Cathedral in London, subdeacon Nikita Mishin, and treasurer of the Sourozh Diocese Andrey Bardakov with their recently celebrated birthdays, and presented them with icons of the Most Holy Mother of God.
This day marks the 43rd anniversary of the repose of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of Leningrad and Novgorod, Patriarchal Exarch in Western Europe (1974 - 1978), who died on September 5, 1978.  At the litany for the departed, prayers were offered up for the ever-memorable Vladyka Nicodim; a lithia was served after the Liturgy.
