On August 28, 2021, on the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.At the Divine Liturgy on the day of the patronal celebration of the main church of the Sourozh diocese, His Grace was assisted by archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Dean of the diocesan district of South-West England archpriest Joseph Skinner, Secretary of the Sourozh diocese priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, priest Alexander Menshikov, protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and deacon Viktor Nikiforov.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the Cathedral choir under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.
Following the prayer behind the ambo, the Right Reverend Vladyka and the concelebrating clergy sung the veneration of the Mother of God. Then Vladyka Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with words of a sermon and spiritual edification.
In the altar of the Cathedral, in consideration of the hard work fot the church, Denis Nedostupenko was honored by the Archpastor with the right to wear a cassock.
The divine service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
