On September 21, 2020, on the feast of the Nativity of Our Most Holy Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the augmented litany, petitions were raised to get rid of the spread of the harmful epidemic - coronavirus infection. Then His Grace Vladyka offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of a harmful epidemic.
At the end of the Liturgy, Vladyka Matthew congratulated clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral with the feast and addressed them with a word of edification.
Administrator of the Office of the Diocese of Sourozh, Natalya Purishko, was awarded a high Patriarchal award - Russian Orthodox Church Order of Venerable Euphrosyne, Duchess of Moscow, III degree, for her hard work for the good of the Holy Church and in connection with her jubilee birthday. In his congratulatory speech, His Grace Vladyka noted Natalya Andreevna's great contribution to the daily life of the diocese and highly appreciated her work in the diocesan administration.
The service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.
