« On the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London »

On August 19, 2020, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in London.
His Grace was assisted by the acting Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-East of England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk and Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch.
At the augmented litany, prayers were raised to get rid of the spread of the harmful epidemic - coronavirus infection.  Then His Grace Vladyka offered up a prayer, which is read during the spread of a harmful epidemic.
Following the tradition, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Archpastor consecrated fruits of the new harvest.
At the end of the Liturgy, Vladyka Matthew congratulated the parishioners and clergy of the Cathedral with the feast and addressed them with a word of edification.
After the service, panikhida and moleben were served, during which prayers were offered for the repose and health of Orthodox Christians.  Notes for commemoration are accepted during all Sundays at the candle table of the Cathedral.
The service was broadcast live on the diocesan page Life of Sourozh on the social network Facebook.

Worship services with the participation of parishioners will be held every Sunday and on certain feast days.  Due to the need to comply with Government rules on leaving the quarantine, those wishing to take part in the Liturgy should read Rules for visiting the church.
