« Congratulations to Archbishop Anatoly (Kuznetsov) on the occasion of his 90th birthday »

On May 28, 2020, Archbishop Anatoly (Kuznetsov), one of the oldest bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, celebrates his 90th birthday.
To mark the anniversary and many years of his archpastoral ministry in the British Isles, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, on behalf of the clergy and laity of the Sourozh Diocese, sent to Vladyka Anatoly a congratulatory address and a bouquet of white roses.
On July 20, 1990, at the request of Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) of Sourozh, Bishop Anatoly (Kuznetsov) was appointed Bishop of Kerch, Vicar of the Sourozh Diocese.

Russian-speaking parishioners were at his archpastoral care, the place of service of Vladyka Anatoly was the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London. Vladyka conducted lessons of the Law of God at the parish school; on Sundays he lectured and on Thursdays he organized "Russian talks" for Russian-speaking parishioners, he visited the sick.

On February 25, 1993 he was ordained to the rank of Archbishop.

In 1994, he was appointed to carry out pastoral care at the Inretsession parish in the city of Manchester, whose community and dilapidated church had come, by the early 1990s, into distress. Vladyka Anatoly not only restored the church life in the community, but also organized the construction of a new church.

On April 5, 1995, at the British branch of the International Slavic Academy of Science and Culture he was elected an honorary corresponding member of this Academy.

On December 27, 2001, he retired on his own petition, being instructed to continue the construction of the Russian Orthodox Intercession Church in the city of Manchester and to serve the parish with his pastoral care.

On July 17, 2002, he was again appointed Archbishop of Kerch, Vicar Bishop of the Diocese of Sourozh, and Rector of the Intercession Stavropegic Parish in the city of Manchester.

On November 9, 2010, he was relieved of his post as the head of the Manchester Church of the Intercession, with the right to serve freely in this parish, and with expression of gratitude for the work done on the construction of the church and the formation of the parish.

On May 4, 2017, he retired for health reasons, with expression of gratitude for the work on the organization of church life in various dioceses entrusted to his administration, on other church obediences, as well as for many years of service as a Vicar Bishop of the Sourozh Diocese.
