On January 11, 2020, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh took part in the Christmas celebrations at the parish school of the Dormition Cathedral in London.
The event was attended by clergy of the Cathedral Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky and Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh.
Opening the festive program prepared by teachers and students of the school, Vladyka Matthew congratulated all those present with the bright feast of the Nativity of Christ.
The school's children's choir performed Christmas concert under the direction of Marina Bezmenova, teacher and Choirmaster of the Cathedral.
School's students showed a theatrical performance based on A.S.  Pushkin's "The Tale of Tsar Saltan ...", directed by Nadezhda Larina.
At the end of the event, Vladyka presented the Patriarchal medals "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church" to Elena Poplavskaya, Director of the parish school, and Marina Bezmenova, Choirmaster of the Cathedral, noting their many years of work for the benefit of the Church of Christ.
All students were presented with Christmas gifts and the latest issue of the diocesan children’s magazine Sparrow.
