« Annual Conference of the Sourozh Diocese Opens in Darbyshire »

On May 31, 2019, the Annual Conference of the Sourozh Diocese opened at the Hayes Conference Center in Swanwick, Darbyshire. 
Before the beginning of the congress, uniting clergy and parishioners from the parishes of the Sourozh diocese on the territory of the Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh headed a moleben in front of the relics of the synaxis of Diveevo Saints.  A reliquary with the holy relics of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov, Venerable Alexandra, Venerable Martha, Venerable Elena, Venerable Matrona the Confessor, Blessed Pelagia, Blessed  Paraskeva, Blessed  Maria and a piece of stone on which St. Seraphim prayed,  was brought to the Diocese of Sourozh with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas and Bishop Matthew of Sourozh. 
Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, cleric of the Dormition Cathedral, Archpriest Igor Borisov, cleric of the Seraphim-Diveevo monastery, and protodeacon Vadim Sancevitch assisted the Right Reverend Vladyka.  Participants of the conference prayed during the service. 
Ahead of the official opening of the conference, Vladyka Matthew addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.  After that, Archpriest Igor Borisov, opening the scientific part of the conference, made a report on “The Succession of the Blessed Eldresses of the Seraphim-Diveevo Convent”. Unique archive photographs, taken during the life of the holy Blessed Mothers, were displayed during the presentation of the report. 
After Father Igor's report, conference participants had informal discussions.
