On April 7, 2019, on the 4th Sunday of the Great Lent, memory of Venerable John of the Ladder, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch, Deacon Anthony Ivashin and deacon Victor Akhryapin.
The liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the London Cathedral under the direction of M.V. Bezmenova.
After the prayer before the ambo, the Right Reverend Vladyka and the serving clergy sung glorification in front of the image of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, after which Vladyka Matthew addressed the clergy and parishioners with words of preaching and spiritual edification.
On the feast of the Annunciation, the oldest cleric of the London Cathedral Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky celebrates the 29th anniversary of his ordination to priesthood. Vladyka Matthew warmly congratulated Fr. Maxim with the memorable date and presented to him a patriarchal award - medal "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church."
