On March 11, 2019, on Monday of the first week of the Great Lent, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh led the reading of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

His Grace was assisted by the clergy of the Cathedral: Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-West of England, and priest Dmitriy Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh.

The canon's songs were read in Church Slavonic and English.

A sermon at the end of the service was delivered by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky.
