On February 16, 2019, on the day of commemoration of Equal to the Apostles Nicholas, Archbishop of Japan, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the parish of St Patrick of Ireland in the city of Waterford, Republic of Ireland.
His Grace was assisted by Priest Nikolai Evseev, the parish Rector, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, and Deacon Grigory Oborotchanu.
Parishioners from various cities of the South of the country prayed at the service.
After the prayer before the ambo, the Right Reverend Vladyka served a prayful glorification to the feast of the Meeting of the Lord, which the Holy Church celebrated a day before.
In his sermon, addressed to the clergy and parishioners, Vladyka Matthew noted the uniqueness of the parish in Waterford, since this is the only parish of the Russian Orthodox Church dedicated to Saint Patrick, Apostle of Ireland.
Vladyka congratulated the parishioners with the feast and gave to everyone his archpastoral blessing.
