« The Diocese of Sourozh organises the bringing of the Holy Fire to Britain »

The Diocese of Sourozh will organise the transport of the Miraculous Holy Fire from Jerusalem to the British Isles.

On the occasion of the joyful feast of the Resurrection of Christ, with the assistance of the philanthropist Timothy Musatov, a chartered flight from Jerusalem will deliver the Holy Fire to London.

The Holy Fire will be delivered in time for the beginning of the Paschal services to the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition and All Saints in Knightsbridge, London (Diocese of Sourozh). The Holy Fire will also be delivered to the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and the Holy Royal Martyrs in Chiswick (Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad).

The Sourozh Diocesan Administration noted that:"we believe and hope that the bringing of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to London will serve as yet another confirmation that in the real historical relations between our peoples the is no place for any confrontation stirred up solely for political purposes".

"It is known that representatives of several local Churches, the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, the Patriarchate of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Jerusalem, the Coptic and Syrian Churches, participate in the ceremony of the descent of the Holy Fire. This occurance once again testifies to the unity and the strength of the Christian world", said the philanthropist Timofey Musatov.

The RT TV channel and social networks will broadcast the bringing of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to London.

The solemn delivering of the Holy Fire in London, will take place on Saturday, April 7 2018 at 23.00 hrs. at: The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition and All Saints, 67, Ennismore Gardens, London, SW7 1NH.
