« The Right Reverend Bishop Matthew of Sourozh headed feast day celebrations at the Cathedral of Edmonton, Canada »

On December 16-17, 2018, celebrations were held in Edmonton, Alberta province, Canada, on the occasion of the feast day of the holy Great Martyr Barbara. The All-Night Vigil on the eve of the feast and the Divine Liturgy at St. Barbara's Cathedral in the city of Edmonton were served by Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, the interim Head of the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada.
During the services His Grace was assisted by Architects Igor Kisil, Dean of the Patriarchal parishes in Canada and Rector of the Cathedral,  Archpriest Yevgeni Protsenko, Rector of the "Orthodox IX" Parish District, Archpriest Vitaly Manoli, priest Alexiy Surayev, Rector of the "Orthodox V" Parish District, and Deacon Andrei Boldyreff.
The festive divine service was led in both Church Slavonic and English languages.
After the prayers before the amvon, the Archpastor, clergy and parishioners served a molieben in front of the holy foot of the Great Martyr Barbara which is the main shrine of the Cathedral.
After the divine service, Vladyka Matthew addressed the cocelebrating clergy and the parishioners, who gathered for the solemn celebration, with a sermon and spiritual edification, wishing everyone to draw moral lessons from the life of the holy Great Martyr Barbara, and, following  her example, sincerely, earnestly and firmly keep faith to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
