« Priestly ordination in the Dormition Cathedral »
On November 8th, 2015, the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost, on the feast day of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonika, Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh together with Archbishop Anatoly of Kerch and other Cathedral clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral of the Diocese of Sourozh.
Memorial prayers for all warriors who had lost their lives in world wars were said during the Liturgy together with memorial prayers for those who had been killed in the airplane crash over the Sinai Peninsula.
After the Great Entrance Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh ordained Archdeacon Dmitry Nedostupenko into the rank of priest.
A magnification to the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonika was sung after the Divine Liturgy. A memorial litany for the dead warriors and the victims of the airplane crash was also performed.
During his speech Archbishop Elisey congratulated Archpriest Dimitry Karpenko, the sacristan of the Cathedral and the Secretary of the Diocesan Administration with the feast day of his Patron Saint.
Vladyka Elisey also addressed the newly ordained priest Dmitry Nedostupenko, wishing his priestly service to be filled with God's grace. Priest Dmitry Nedostupenko will continue his service as a clergyman of the Dormition Cathedral and also he will be looking after the Patriarchal Stavropegic parish of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Manchester and the parishes in the North of England.
