« Archbishop Elisey celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St Nicholas parish in East London »
On May 4th, the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Moldavian-speaking parish of St Nicholas in East London. The service was dedicated to the first anniversary of the presence of the parish community in the church of the St Ethelburg centre which is situated at 78 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AG.
The Rector of the parish, Archpriest Nikolai Prescura, Archpriests Ioann Prescura and Anatoly Stefanov of the Kishinev Diocese, together with Protodeacon Dmitri Nedostupenko, of the Cathedral of the Dormition in London, concelebrated at the Liturgy.
After the service Archbishop Elisey underlined the importance of keeping Moldavian traditions alive in the parish, expressed his wishes for the future growth and development of parish life and congratulated Father Rector on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of his priesthood and his 30th birthday.
After the service a festive meal was offered to all those present.
