From 11th to 12th September, Archbishop Elisey visited Saint Petersburg and, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 300 anniversary of Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
On 11th September, the Day of the Beheading of St John the Baptist, Archpishop Elisey prayed at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God at the Smolensk Cemetery and served a Moleben in the Chapel of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg at her tomb. Archpriest Viktor Moskovsky, Rector of the church, showed warm hospitality to His Eminence.
On 12th September, the Feast of Right-believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, Archbishop Elisey together with other guests concelebrated with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill at the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and at a Moleben at the Square of St Alexander Nevsky where the holy relics of the Patron Saint of Saint Petersburg lie.
Archdeacon Dmitry Nedostupenko accompanied Archbishop Elisey on his visit.
