« Icon of Mother of God "Surety of Sinners" visits Oxford »

On Sunday 27 November the wonder-working icon of the Mother of God "Surety of Sinners" visited the parish of St. Nicholas at Oxford. Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh presided at the Divine Liturgy in honor of the holy icon. He was assisted by Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, Suffragan Bishop of the Moscow Diocese and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate, who had brought the icon, and the rector of the St Nicholas parish in Oxford, Archpriest Stephen Platt. After the Liturgy had ended the icon remained in the church for a few hours so that it could be venerated by the large number of faithful.
