« Diocese of Sourozh marks the fifth anniversary of consecration of Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh in the presence of the wonder-working icon 'Surety of Sinners' »

On November 26, the fifth anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Archbishop Elisey, a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral of the Diocese of Sourozh in honour of the arrival in London of the wonder-working icon of the Mother of God "Surety of Sinners". 

The night before the Vigil was celebrated at Cathedral led by the Archbishop Elisey, assisted by Archbishop Anatoly of Kerch, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Sourozh, and Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, Assistant Bishop of the Moscow Diocese and Chairman of the Financial and Economic Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate. The service was also attended by clergy, who had come from all over the diocese. Praying at the Liturgy were representatives of the parishes of the diocese, as well as faithful from London the surrounding area, who had come to the Cathedral to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Archbishop Elisey and to venerate the wonder-working icon. 

At the end of the Liturgy Archbishop Elisey was congratulated by Bishop Tikhon, who had brought the icon of the Mother of God, Archbishop Anatoly and the sacristan of the Cathedral, Archpriest Mikhail Dudko. The Cathedral Protodeacon proclaimed Many Years for His Eminence Archbishop Elisey, after which Vladyka Elisey expressed his sincere thanks to all for their congratulations and common prayer. Vladyka requested that special thanks be conveyed to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, who has blessed Bishop Tikhon to bring the icon "Surety of Sinners" to the Sourozh Diocese. 'There is no more valuable gift,' said the Archbishop, 'than the blessing of the Mother of God that has been granted on this auspicious day by bringing Her holy icon.' 

After the service everyone was invited into the hall of the Cathedral for a festive reception.
