« Archbishop Elisey visited the Patriarchal Metochion of St Peter and St Paul damaged by a flood »

On October 29 Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh  visited the Patriarchal Metochion of the Holy Apostles Peter and St Paul in Dublin and inspected the Metochion, which has been affected by a major flood. The church and the priest's house have been heavily damaged. The depth of the flood water on the ground floor of the church was almost two metres. All equipment, including parish and school furniture, musical instruments, office equipment, prosphora baking equipment, kitchen equipment, as well as the housekeeping equipment, have had to be thrown away and cannot be recovered. In the church, the central heating system and wiring have been destroyed. Also completely flooded was the ground floor of the house of the Rector, Father Michael Nasonov. Father Michael and his family have been forced to find temporary accommodation with members of the church congregation. Through the hard work of many of the faithful in response to the flooding damaged areas have been dried out and cleaned.

During the Vigil Service at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Archbishop Elisey addressed words of spiritual support to the faithful. He urged them not to be despondent, but to gather courage for the God-pleasing work of rebuilding the church.
