On Monday, 31 May, Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh took part in a session of the Holy Synod held in the historical building of the Holy Synod in Saint Petersburg.
The Holy Synod made a number of important decisions including the decree of incorporation of 18 newly established parishes in England, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man into the Diocese ofd Sourozh.
Reference: on 1 December 2006, when Vladyka Elisey started his service in Great Britain, the Diocese of Sourozh accounted for 12 parishes.
In 2007, the clergy of the Diocese of Sourozh started celebrating regular services in 5 new communities where the following new parishes were opened: the Parish of St. Kentigern in Glasgow, Scotland; Parish of St. Luke in Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Parish of St. Patrick of Ireland in Waterford, Ireland; Parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Galway, Ireland; Parish of the Holy Trinity in Cork, Ireland.
In 2008, the Parish of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr was opened in Bodiam, East Sussex, on the territory donated for the establishment of a monastery.
In 2009, 5 new parishes were opened: Parish of St. Finnian of Clonard in Belfast, Northern Ireland; Parish of St. Edward, King and Martyr in Wimborne, Dorset; Parish of the Royal Passion-Bearers in Douglas, Isle of Man; Parish of the Nativity of Christ in Kingston-upon-Hull, North Humberside; Parish of St. Elizabeth and St. Barbara the New Martyrs in Newton Abbot, Devon.
In the current 2010, 7 new parishes were established: Parish of St. Silouan the Athonite in Southampton, Hampshire; Parish of St. Andrew the First-Called in Romford, Essex; Parish of St. Macarius of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland; Parish of the Annunciation in Dundy, Scotland; Parish of St. Theneva of Scotland in Edinburgh, Scotland; Parish of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victory-bearer in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear; Parish of All British Saints in Birmingham, West Midlands.
