Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh took part in the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to Saint Petersburg.
On 29 May, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople together with a delegation of guests and members of the Holy Synod visited the St Alexander Nevsky Lavra. Bishop Nazary of Vyborg, Rector of the Lavra, together with the clergy and laypeople greeted the distinguished guests at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Lavra. After the prayer and mutual greetings of the Primates of the two Churches, Patriarch Bartholomew served a memorial litia at the Nikolskoe Cemetery at the tomb of Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of blessed memory and visited the tomb of F.M. Dostoevsky at the Tikhvinskoe Cemetery of the Lavra.
In the evening, Metropolitan Vladimir of Saint Petersburg hosted a reception at his residence organised in honour of the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Saint Petersburg.
