22-11-2010 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia greeted Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his service as a member of the clergy.
To His Eminence, the Most Reverend Elisey, Archbishop of Sourozh
Your Eminence,
I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of your service in holy orders.
Following the example of your worthy father, your showed a fervent determination to devote your life to God and His Holy Church. In accordance with the will of God you were entrusted with many different obediences. Representing the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia in Estonia and being the Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem for some years, you made a considerable contribution in developing the Inter-Orthodox dialogue and strengthening the spiritual and cultural relations with our brothers in Christ.
Now you fulfil the archpastoral service on the throne of the Diocese of Sourozh with the same eagerness and commitment, taking care of the strengthening of faith and the salvation of the flock entrusted to you, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom (Col. 1:28). It is gratifying to note that continuing the cause of the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony you bring the joyful evidence of the Risen Saviour, of the beauty and truth of Orthodox Christianity to the world, you make great efforts to renew the spiritual life in the British Isles.
On this memorable day, I prayerfully wish you good health, patience and inner peace. May the All-Merciful Lord strengthen you in carrying out your responsibilities, which you perform with fervency for the good of the Church of Christ and the people of God.
