« The Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy was celebrated in London »

On the first Sunday of Lent, the Orthodox Church celebrates a special service called the Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy. This year as usual the parishioners of the London Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and All Saints took part in this common prayer.

There was a special commemoration of those people who laboured at strengthening Orthodoxy throughout the history of the Church as well as the departed primates of Orthodox churches. Prayers were also read for the well-being of the current Patriarchs and hierarchs who lead the Local Orthodox Churches .

The Rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy was served by Bishop Elisey of Sourozh and Archbishop Anatoliy of Kerch, the Assistant Bishop of the Diocese.

After the service, Bishop Elisey congratulated those gathered with the feast and thanked Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia who joined the celebration of the feast at the Cathedral for the common prayer and his support in strengthening inter-Orthodox unity.
