From Diocese of Sourozh
Bishop Elisey celebrates the Feast of the Three Hierarchs in Paris
12th February 2008
On 12 February, Bishop Elisey of Sourozh took part in the festivities in connection with the patronal feast of the Metochion of the Three Hierarchs in Paris. Archbishop Innocent of Kosrun presided over the Divine Liturgy and was assisted by both Bishop Elisey and a hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, Bishop Michael of Geneva. There were also numerous clergy and guests of the Diocese of Kosrun.
In his address after the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Elisey noted the affinity between the dioceses of Kosrun and Sourozh. Over fifty years ago, Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) of blessed memory travelled from Paris to London there to established the diocese of Sourozh. On behalf of the clergy and the laity of the Diocese, Bishop Elisey expressed his gratitude for all the prayers and archpastoral care for the diocese during her recent difficulties.
Bishop Elisey was accompanied on this visit by the London Cathedral deacon, Dimitry Nedostupenko.
