« On the day of remembrence of St.Seraphim of Sarov, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Liturgy at the children's Orthodox camp of the Diocese of Sourozh »

On August 1, 2019, the day of celebration of the acquisition of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, made an archpastoral visit to the children's Orthodox camp of the Diocese of Sourozh named after St. Seraphim of Sarov and headed the Divine Liturgy there.

His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Stefan Platt, Dean of the Diocesan District of Central England, Rector of St. Nicholas Church of Oxford, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Alexei Kostyanovsky.

Liturgical chants were sung by children's and youth choir led by Anna Platt.

At the end of the service, Vladyka talked with teachers and children, who came to the camp from various cities of Great Britain as well as from abroad.

According to the long-standing tradition, the international children's camp of the Diocese of Sourozh is headed by clergy, adult organizers and youth leaders.  The organizers focus on the experience of Orthodox life.  The camp schedule includes daily prayers, visits by the diocesan clergy, Orthodox educational undertakings, sports, arts and crafts, hiking in the countryside, theater performances, music events and dances, active games, trips to nearby villages, exploring sights and more.
