On March 13, 2019, on Wednesday of the first week of the Great Lent, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts at the Dormition Cathedral in the city of London.
His Grace was assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, Archpriest Joseph Skinner, Dean of the Diocesan District of the South-West of England, Priest Dimitry Nedostupenko, Secretary of the Diocese of Sourozh, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Victor Nikiforov.
The liturgical chants were sung by the choir of the Cathedral under the direction of M.V. Bezmenova.
At the end of the Divine service, His Grace headed the Litiya and addressed the clergy and parishioners of the temple with words of spiritual edification.
In the Cathedral Altar, Vladyka awarded the right to wear the cassock to Gennady Ivanov in consideration of his hard work for the benefit of the Church of Christ.
Vladyka Matthew addressed a congratulatory word to Marina Bezmenova, choir master of the Cathedral, and Marina Kvetena, the temple employee, on the occasion of their name-day, having especially noted their works and important church obedience. He also presented flowers to both women celebrating their name day.
