« Meeting of the Parish Assembly at the Cathedral of the Sourozh Diocese »
29-12-2011 On 29th December 2011, the final meeting of the Parish Assembly of the Dormition Cathedral for last year took place. The Parish Assembly was chaired by Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh, Rector of the Dormition Cathedral in London. The meeting was attended by Archbishop Anatoly of Kerch, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Sourozh, together with the clergy and elected lay representatives of the parish.
The meeting took note of the work of the parish for 2011, as well as planning activities for 2012. Particular attention was paid to ensuring the continuation of active parish life during the forthcoming renovation of the cathedral, which will include the reconstruction of the iconostasis, floor and interior.
Another topic question discussed the spiritual support of athletes visiting London during the 2012 Olympic Games.
Archbishop Elisey thanked all the clergy and laity for their hard work in 2011, and wished them success and progress in the coming year.
